Just a normal Sunday...

for us, but not for my dh!!! Look where he is: cycling the Golden Gate Bridge!!! We (the kids and I) are soooo jealous!!!

But to be honest, nothing could ruin our moods as we have a whole week off to look forward to!!! Yay!! The spring holiday has started!! However, if you look outside, you wouldn't say so.... it has been raining from yesterday morning till now ... non stop!!

We didn't mind though, because we had lots to do: the kids found some indoor entertaining, except for the computer, i-pot, Nintendo DS and the Play Station II they also did some gymnastics:

and this is what I've been doing:

sorry, can't show it all as it's for The Scrappiest, but tomorrow I can. Used lots of new Jillibean Soup, which had just arrived in my LSS!! Btw, it's my very last layout for Liz as my year (and 1 month) with her has come to an end :-(. As of March 1 there will be a whole new Design Team!

and Manon??? She was babysitting.... again!!! so no pic of her.... for once.

1 Bird and 2 Boys :-)

It's time for the latest Scrappiest layout :-). I used some photos from our holiday in Greece in 2007 for this layout. I'm amazed to see how young the boys were then!

We found this little restaurant at the beach where we spent many long hours in the sun! bliss!! and they happened to have this beautiful parrot standing near the entrance. I think the boys spent more time with this bird than on the beach, lol!

These Jillibean Soup papers with little birds and bird houses were just perfect for these pics! Used the shapes (round 14) from Epiphany Crafts to create two epoxy birds and for the flower center.

For this layout I used sketch #108 from The Scrappiest:

Isn't this a great sketch? If you want to see what the other designers created have a look at the Scrappiest blog!

Thanks for having a look at my blog and see you soon!

More Inkido projects!

And it's Monday again!!! How time flies! How was your weekend??? Just as much fun as mine? I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday scrapping, talking, laughing, eating, watching films, shopping..... etc. with Mieke in Ommen! We had such a good time! Hope we can do this again SOON!!

But because I didn't have my laptop with me during this weekend away I still owe you my 2 Inkido projects from last Saturday. So, here they are:

A layout about my dd feeding the birds during the snow in December:

With the journaling hidden in the bag:

I created the page with all kinds of Inkido products: Patterned Paper: Christmas Elegance (Snowfall and Snowfall Stripes), Classic (Noter Brun), Apples (Golden Delicious), Drömmar (Ruta Beige), then some white, beige and brown cardstock, flowers, a charm and some pearls. Furthermore I used some spray ink, a white pen and a heart shaped doily from a local bakery.

The title is created with the "Diesel" alphabet from Quickutz and the birds and the bird cage are made using dies from Marianne Design. The borders are made with either a Martha Stewart borderpunch or my fancy x-acto scissors.

The brown paper bag (behind the photo) I got from a shop in Denmark to wrap my purchases in. I asked the lady from the shop if I could have my purchases and the bag(s) separate, so it wouldn't crease (because I knew straight away I wanted to use it for scrapping, LOL!

And the other project was also about this brown paper bag:

And a close-up:

Materials I used: Patterned Paper: Drömmar (Ruta Beige), Gammaldags Jul (Julhjartan), Apples (Cox Orange), Mathea (Golden Glow), Christmas Elegance (Elegant Stripes), Mathea (Coral), then 3 different ribbons, pins, a charm and a stamp.

The bag is perfect to give someone a gift card or a (little) book.

To close the bag I folded the top half, punched two holes in it and wrapped a ribbon through it. Easy!
Hope you like my projects and see you next time!

He likes The Simpsons!!

This month we have such a fun sketch over at the Dutch Dares! At first glance I thought it was a difficult one, but as soon as I started with these fun photos and terrific Sassafras papers and embellishments the layout came together easily!!

This is the sketch:
And this is my layout:

I just LOVE the happy and bright colors that Sassafras has!!! I love the monsters, the stickers, the felties, the journaling spots, the borders,  the flowers.... I love it all!!

And about my page: my son is a big Simpson fan and when he saw these slippers in the shop he just HAD to have them (even if they were at least 2 sizes too big, LOL).

I folded some "windmills", stuck a Sassafras flower sticker on top and then an epoxy shape made with my Epiphany Crafts tools (of course).

And on course I used my sewing machine on this page! A page just isn't finished without some sewing on it.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you back soon!

Mood Swings....

No, not mine! but my daughter's!! I don't know about your daughter, but mine can be super happy one minute and ready to explode with anger the next .... luckily that doesn't last either and 5 minutes later she's her happy self again! And it's only my daughter, my boys don't "suffer" from these mood swings, they are much more level headed. Oh well, maybe it's a girl's things, cause to be honest, I kinda recognize it... :-)

Here's my page:

I used papers and embellishments from GCD Studios, "Homespun Chic" by Melody Ross. I just LOVE this line, it's so colorful and there are so many extra's to make your page complete (I even used 2 of the packages because they were too beautiful to throw away.... do you see them??)! I didn't even use my Epiphany Crafts tools as this line has its own epoxy shapes!!

And of course I had to use my sewing machine. I stitched a border around the papers and the photos, stitched through one of the borders and I stitched right through the title.

The layout is based on Liz' new sketch from The Scrappiest!! I love this sketch (but as you know, I love them all, LOL).

Did you know there's a Design Team Call going on at The Scrappiest??? If you love Liz' sketches and love to be on a Design Team, why not give it a shot???

This is it for now! See you tomorrow?? I'll show you the layout I created for the Dutch Dares then!

Just a few random things...

I've been scrapping a lot last week, but can't show you anything yet, but a sneak never hurt anyone, right?

This is part of my layout for the Dutch Dares sketch next Wednesday! Lots of Sassafras and of course shapes from Epiphany Crafts!! I'm soooo in love with my Epiphany Crafts tools!!! (..... they're having DT call right now!! :-))

And then last Friday I had some good news from Britain's Scrapbook Magazine!! They're going to publish a mini album in issue nr. 34 and two more layouts in issue nr. 39 (and there will be a layout in issue #37 too)!!!! Wohoo!!

And "zum Schluss" a photo of our new couches:

I ordered them way back in November and was soooo afraid the color would be too orange, but to my relief I still love this "brique" color!! (and according to my ds it's comfortable enough too!! LOL).

Btw, did you see my blog passed the 100 followers????? I think it's time to celebrate!! Let me think about it and I'll get back to you sometime this week!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and see you soon!

2 new INKIDO layouts!

Last Saturday was my "Inkido Day" and that meant that I could show my 2 new layouts on their blog!

Here's the first:

A layout about my youngest during our holiday in Denmark last summer. Here he seems very happy, but he had a few days that he wasn't feeling very well as from day 1 of our holidays he had chicken-pox :-(.

A few close ups:

Materials I used: Patterned Paper: Drömmar Ruta Bla, Autumn Wardrobe (Tailored Stripes), Mathea (Coral), Apples (Red Delicious and Cox Orange), a stamp, charms, flowers, ribbons and a tag, everything from Inkido. Furthermore I used a red ink pad and some spray ink. Tools: Martha Stewart punch, Epiphany Crafts Stuido Tool Round 14, sewing machine, white pen and stapler.

And here's my other layout:

Again about my youngest. This time during a holiday in Greece (aren't we globe trotters??? LOL). After a day playing on the beach and at the pool he was so tired that he fell asleep in his swimming toys! Isn't he sweet?!

A few close ups:

The buttons are made with the tools from Epiphany Crafts and the bear and the blocks I cut with my Slice.

Materials I used: Patterned Paper: Ladybug and Friends (Little Things), Apples (Golden Delicious, Red Delicious and Astrakan), Drömmat Ruta Beige, Autumn Wardrobe (Tailored Stripes), brown cardstock, white corrugated cardboard, flowers, ribbon, a butterfly charm and a text and flower stamp. Apart from these materials from Inkido I used some spray ink and stamping ink, my sewing machine, Slice, Epiphany Crafts tools, a stapler and a pen.

I sooooo LOVE the products from Inkido!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for the sweet comments you always leave! They are much appreciated!!
