Valentine's Kids Crafts - Imaginisce

When I mentioned what project I was going to do for today, my 9 year old son jumped up and said that he wanted to help! Now, how cool is that? He grabbed his coloring pens and some paper and started drawing this flower for his dad (between the plates of our dinner we were eating!)

Later that week we went to Ikea to buy a photo frame for his drawing and as soon as we arrived home he said he wanted to decorate the frame. I quickly grabbed my scraps from the new “My Baby” collection (as the pink colors a the design on the “B”side of the papers is just perfect!) and a heart punch and gave those to him. He punched a whole lot of hearts, big and small.

While he did that I created a background for his flower, layering and stitching the papers. Then we put the flower in the frame, added some punched hearts “confetti” and closed the frame. Last but not least my son adhered punched hearts to the outside of the photo frame. I’m really loving the result!

I'm confinced his father will love this!!

Leuk geworden hè? Pat vindt het vast leuk!

Supplies: Imaginisce's "New Baby" collection, AC cardstock and twine from The Twinery.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Enjoy your Friday!

Pocket Page Protector Tutorial - Pretty Little Studio

Last Friday my quick and easy tutorial on how to use "pocket page protectors" on your layout was up on Pretty Little Studio's blog and today I'm gonna share it here too - just in case you missed it!

Seeing as “pocket pages” are all the rage right now, I thought it would be fun to use (part of) a plastic pocket page protector on my layout, because like many of you I’ve got piles of these protectors lying around my scrap room. For my layout I chose to use part of this pocket page protector by Becky Higgins:

Using my Fiskars trimmer I cut off one of the pockets:

Next I punched a lot of hearts, using one of my Epiphany Crafts tools:

... put them in the pocket, added a speech bubble (cut with my Cameo) and used my sewing machine to sew the speech bubble in place and the pocket shut:

And here’s my completed layout (with the pocket nicely incorporated) and a few close-ups. Hope you like it!

Supplies: Pretty Little Studio's Neapolitan collection and a few bits and pieces from the April Showers and Love Notes collections.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Siblings - Imaginisce

When I saw the new sketch #260 at Creative Scrappers I just had to use it! I'm loving sketches with triangles at the moment, so this one got printed straight away. For my page I used one of the new winter collections from Imaginsce: "Perfect Vacation" and of course a photo taken during our vacation.

And two close-ups: a Silhouette cut ... still sooooo happy with my Cameo!

One of the stamps from the "Perfect Vacation" collection:

I'm in love with this collection! It's awesome ... one side of the paper has a "busy" design and the other side a neutral one. What I love too are all the embellishments, stamps and cards that come with this collection:

Don't you just love these too?

And before I forget, here's the sketch my page is based upon:

En hier is de schets waarop mijn layout gebaseerd is:

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative Sunday afternoon!

Love my friends - Websters Pages

The entire week challenges were posted on the blog of Webster's Pages and because I have quite a Websters stash (from one of their warehouse sales) I decided to join in one of them: "scrap using a soft element". This is what I made: a layout about a day (scrap)shopping with my friends in Utrecht.

I chose all kinds of scraps from my Webster's box and am afraid I can't tell you from which collections they come! This feather "flower" is by far the softest element I used:

I added a few "non" Webster's Pages elements too, like the washi tape, the paper clip, the twine, the doily and the wood veneers. Most of these are available in the Purple Pumpkin store

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for leaving me such sweet comments. I really love reading these! Have a fab weekend!

Out Of The Box challenge - Pretty Little Studio

Yesterday the layout I create for Pretty Little Studio's OOTB challenge was up on their blog. Using their Neapolitan collection and the sketch pen in my Cameo I made this:

And a few close-ups:

I added a few bits and pieces from my stash to the page like the chipboard arrows from UmWowStudio, some wood veneer, a Jillibean Soup corrugated man, Pebbles corrugated alpha's, some washi tape, twine and staples. Love how it turned out!

This is the photo that was used for the OOTB challenge

So if you feel like scrapping this weekend, why not give this challenge a try?!

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Have a fun & creative weekend!

Happy @ 49 - Lily Bee

For today I've got a layout about "me" to share. I used Lily Bee's Sweet Shoppe once again (I just love this collection!) and a few goodies that are available in Purple Pumpkin's shop

I just love to use a lot of papers with different colors and designs on my layouts! A few close-ups:

I always love to add some washi tape to my pages ... if you're looking for this one, it's for sale in Purple Pumpkin's online store! As are the tape, twine and tags!

Thanks for stopping again today! Love your visits!

He is 9 !! - Pretty Little Studio

Pretty Little Studio's new sketch challenge is up and I really love it! I made this page of my youngest who turned 9 on December 30:

I've used the Birthday Cake collection for this page, but added a fun flair from the Neapolitan collection. Love those!

For the banner I used Epiphany Crafts' Pennant tool. How cute is that little mouse?!!

Really loving those big numbers!

And this is the sketch:

Would love if you'd play along! and who knows, maybe you'll be the winner of $5.- coupon for the store. You've got until January 27th to link up.

Furthermore, you may have noticed my comments section has changed ... I had so many "complaints" from friends that they couldn't leave me any comments anymore that I have removed the link between the comments on my blog and Google+. This means all previous comments aren't visible anymore (only in my Google+ profile), but many more people are able (again) to leave me a comment - if they wish to do so, lol! (Pfffew! So happy I finally figured out how to remove the link!)

And for those of you who signed up to Google+ especially to be able to leave me a comment: thank you so very very much!! ! I love you all!

The story of the melting ice cream - Lily Bee + free Silhouette cut file

Okay, I'll admit it, I just love Lily Bee and I have lots of their collections in my stash, old and new. So when I sat down to scrap these photos of Mats eating his ice cream I decided to use their "Sweet Shoppe" collection and combined it with some "Pinwheel" bit and pieces.

Layout  "The story of the melting ice cream!!":

What I love about Lily Bee's collections are the sticker sheets with all the different sized alphabet stickers:

and the chipboard embellishments of course:

Oh oh, his shirt was sooo dirty, I don't think it survived this ice cream ....

For the background I designed my own Silhouette cut file and finally discovered how to share it. This is how it looks:

Then I simply cut 9 strips of paper and adhered them to my cardstock:

and this was the result:

FREE SILHOUETTE CUT FILE

If you like it too, then feel free to download it, just click on the link below the image:

mliedtke banner background
Originally I designed the background with a cut-out title:

mliedtke awesome banner background
As this is the very first time I'm sharing one of my Cameo cut files, I would love to know what you think! Have fun with it and I would love it if you would give me credit when using it.
