My Creative Scrapbook May Main Kit Step-By-Step

Hi friends! I've got one last layout to share, created with the "My Creative Scrapbook" May Main Kit. I adored all the Jillibean Soup "Bowl of Dreams" products that were included in this kit, which you've probably already realized after seeing so many projects created with it!

Here's the layout I wanted to share today. A little step-by-step of a page with a photo of two of my nephews.

As this was the fourth layout I created with this kit I had lots of and lots of leftover strips of paper. I really don't like wasting scrapbook paper I love so I decided to create a page using mainly these leftover strips. Here's what I did:

1. Collect all the left-over strips of paper. Mine were between 1 cm and 3 cm wide (approx between 0.5" and 1.5"). Make sure the strips aren't longer than 6" (15 cm).

2. Select the tools & products you might use:

3. Cut or punch a little "v" in one end of the paper strips:

4. Determine the middle of your background sheet and arrange the strips on the left and right side of it. I made little pencil marks to keep a straight line, which I'll remove later on. Use only a little bit of adhesive to adhere the strips to your background, so you'll be able to move them around if necessary.

5. Use your sewing machine to stitch two vertical line over the paper strips (in this photo you can also see my pencil marks which mark the centre of my page):

6. Remove pencil marks:

7. Next mat your photo and choose one of the cards from the Bowl of Dreams "Bite Sized Bits" sheet and adhere both the photo and the card to your page. Now comes the fun part! The embellishing!!

Here are a few close-ups of my finished page. I used the fabric AC Sotheby's Thickers for my title. On two of my other layouts I colored these letters, but as I thought that this layout is already colorful enough I decided to leave them as is.

I love using ribbon on my pages (even if it's only a little piece like here) as it adds just that little bit of extra texture.

Even though I used a boys photo, I think using flowers is perfectly justified (don't know if they agree though, lol).

This is it! the last layout created with the MCS May Main Kit! Hope you like it! If you would like to see more tutorials or step-by-step projects then hop over to the blog of My Creative Scrapbook. There you'll find tons of inspiration using the various MCS kits!

As it's almost June I've already created my layouts with the June Main Kit as well! Can't wait to share those with you too! I promise, the kit is amazing once again! Right up my alley!

Wishing you a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by to have a look at my project!

Hi Hey Hello - The Cut Shoppe

Hi hey hello everyone! Today I want to share another layout I created for The Cut Shoppe! I love using digital cut files and have thousands of them, but the cut files from The Cut Shoppe are among my very favorite ones! For today's layout I used the FREE cut file " Happy Now" and some Instax photographs taken on Mother's Day!

This is the Happy Now (free) cut file I used:

I used pink Paislee's Oh My Heart collection with which I had already created a few layouts, but I love this collection so much I just had to use the last scraps as well!

A few close-ups: the acetate word is from Heidi Swapp and the puffy xoxo from American Crafts (Amy Tangerine).

The "Happy Now" cut file was a freebee for National Scrapbooking Day can be found HERE. More fun cut files can be found in The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a crafty day!

Blooming Hearts Layout - My Last DT Project for Pretty Little Studio

Today I posted my last layout on Pretty Little Studio's blog. I’ve been part of PLS’ Creative Team for 3.5 years and I almost can’t imagine my “scrapbooking” life without it, but life changes and I’ve had to make a few hard decisions and this is one of them. Before I go I’ve had the pleasure to create one last layout with the awesome new collection from designer Zinia Amoiridou: “Blooming Hearts“.

I just love this collection’s color palette and all the amazing matching hearts die-cuts! So when I started my page, the decision was easy … I wanted to use the entire bag of hearts! And voilĂ , my “hearts layout”:

Aren’t the colors and designs of all those different hearts amazing?! My favorite is the yellow one at the top on the left! Of course I had to add a bit of machine stitching, otherwise my page wouldn’t be complete!

The little words are from the same bag as the hearts and sayings were so perfect for my photo I decided to include a lot of those too!

The flair buttons are awesome so awesome as well. I often find them difficult to photograph because of the glare from the light, but you can see how fabulous this one is!

The journaling cards in this collection are fun too and I chose the yellow one (as yellow makes me happy!):

I’m not much of a “flower” girl, but the flower die-cuts in this collection are so fun I just had to include a few. I only added them after I had kind of finished my page and so in this case they are my finishing touch. Quite like the result!

This is it! My last layout as a member of the Pretty Little Studio Creative Team! Hope you’ve enjoyed my projects over the years I know I have enjoyed creating them!!

Here’s a list of all the Pretty Little Studio products I used for my page:

  • Blooming Hearts collection: Patterned Paper: 8×8 Paper Pack; Flair: Always In My Heart; Die-cuts: Blooming, I Heart You; Journaling: We Belong Together.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog today and I hope to see you back soon!

Have a great day!

Pebbles Mini (Tag) Album using the Tealightful Collection!

Hello friends! For Pebbles I created this fun tag mini album using the Tealightful collection! Last week, when I was making a (long overdue) back-up of my photos, I found these photos of my youngest again, participating in a sort of “fashion show” with his school using recycled and self-made clothes. At the time he was only 5 years old and he looked ever so cute! I knew straight away I wanted to use these photos in some kind of mini album, which turned out to be this tag album:

Before beginning the tag mini album, I printed all the photos I wanted to use in size 2″x 2″, found a cut file in the Silhouette store with 5 different tags & collected the papers and embellishments I thought I would need. Although I used my Silhouette to create the tags, you can easily hand cut these as well. They are different in size (what I love!) but the largest tag is approx. 6″ x 3.5″.

Now came the fun part: embellishing all the tags! Before I adhered the papers on the tags, I used my paper distressing tool to rough up the edges a little. After I had embellished all the tags I used a white & a black pen to draw a lines along the edges of both the tags and some of the papers.

Here are the tags one by one (except for the cover, which you can see in the first photo), so this is the back of the first tag. I just love the pink glitter foam Thickers that belong to this collection and needed to include some of those too!

The second tag is a Pebbles gold dipped tag from the Home+Made collection on which I typed some journaling with my typewriter. Next, I embellished it with a small piece of washi tape, a word sticker, and a transparent sticker:

For the back I used one of the squares from the Tea Party Sentiments sheet and used some ribbon and a puffy sticker to embellish:

The front of the third tag:

On the back  of the third tag I used one of the wood veneer shapes from the Simple Life collection. Isn’t it just perfect?!

Here’s the front of the fourth tag. I just love that so many of the word stickers from the Tealightful collection are so appropriate for my photos!

And the back:

On the fifth tag I adhered the photos a little over the edge of the tag and I loved how it turned out:

And for the back of the fifth tag, I used one of the cards from the Tea Party sheet. Isn’t it super cute?

The sixth and last tag; I thought this was the perfect photo to use last in my mini album, lol. The word “joy” was cut from a sheet of white AC cardstock using my Silhouette:

For the back of the tag mini album I used another card from the Tea Party sheet. I had to trim a little of the sides to make it fit:

This was the last tag in the tag mini album. I used a ring binder to keep all the tags together and knotted a few pieces of ribbon around it. I really love how it turned out! Hope you do too! I adore the Tealightful collection and it’s so perfect to use for almost any occasion!

Spring!

Hi friends! Last Monday I shared a colorful Spring layout on the blog of The Cut Shoppe. About a week ago I visited the "Keukenhof" for the very first time in my life. For those of you who've never heard of the Keukenhof: The Keukenhof is the best day out among flowers! There are more than 7 million bulbs in bloom this Spring and there are about 800 different kinds of tulips! For my layout I definitely needed a Spring cut file and was so happy I could finally use the cut file I've been eyeing for ages: the Social Butterfly!

Using Doodlebug's "Spring Things" collection I created this page:

and this is the "Social Butterfly" cut file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store I used:

Here are a few close-ups of my layout: I cut the Social Butterfly cut file from a very colorful Doodlebug paper as I wanted to place it on a white background:

I placed a lot of fun die-cuts over the butterflies in a way you can still sees part of the butterflies;

After sewing here and there on my page I was done! Really love the result! Hope you do too.

For lots of other Spring cut files make sure to visit The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! Wishing you a wonderful day!
